Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

"No strangeness"

This is the deepest impression that Tzu Chi has left on Ms. Wang

She arrived at 7pm on a typhoon day, and as soon as the taxi stopped

volunteers came up to confirm her identity and kindly showed her the way

From a simple greeting like "Are you here for the event?"

to the naturally welcoming atmosphere,

"It's not just saying love with words, but truly putting it into practice".

Positive Psychology Creates Miracles

The Science Behind Positive Psychology

Professor Zhang Minghui of Tsinghua University expounded on the profound impact of positive psychology on health, emphasizing both science and warmth. He pointed out that many diseases stem from long-term psychological blockages, while positive emotions can stimulate "happy hormones" such as endorphins and dopamine, serving as a powerful driving force for the body's self-healing.

Professor Zhang specifically cited Tzu Chi volunteers as an example to illustrate that "being a Tzu Chi volunteer is the happiest way to heal" - altruism not only brings spiritual joy, but also invisibly builds a strong psychological immune field. The professor emphasized that the true path to health lies in shifting negative and comparative thinking to quick-wittedness, allowing every act of kindness to become a source of nourishment for life.

From Professor Zhang's sharing on positive psychology, Ms. Zeng found the answer. "Love is the best medicine" - this sentence struck her. She realized for the first time that sharing emotions is not "making a fool of oneself", but the beginning of healing. She took the initiative to go on stage and perform sign language exercises. This person who once "would rather sit in the corner" now says, "You have to make a fool of yourself first to shine later."

Nourishing qi and blood, dredging meridians, and regulating the mind

Shi Jianming, director of the oncology department at Suzhou Municipal Hospital, pointed out that the fundamental causes of diseases (including cancer) are "qi and blood deficiency" and "various blockages." From the perspectives of philosophy and holistic medicine, he provided crucial rehabilitation ideas and directions for physical and mental adjustment for cancer patients.

Fundamental Definition of Health -

Health: Qi and blood are abundant, and the body is strong and powerful; Wellness: All channels (blood vessels, meridians, digestive tract, etc.) in the body are unobstructed; Health: Qi and blood can smoothly deliver nutrients to the extremities of the body and effectively excrete metabolic waste.

The root causes of diseases are all attributed to two basic problems: insufficient Qi and blood, and blockages in various channels.

The three pillars leading to health are: Psychology, advocating "changing mindset", "maintaining tranquility", and "nourishing the spirit"; Diet and daily routine, eating regularly, quantitatively, and qualitatively, emphasizing staple foods and adequate water intake, avoiding staying up late and overeating; Exercise, true exercise lies in promoting the "movement" of internal organs and the "activity" of the body, with the core being to promote qi and blood circulation and metabolism.

Relaxation and Dancing for Rehabilitation

Health is achieved through "living it out",

rather than simply "treating it out"

Under the gentle guidance of Mei Huiwen, a doctor of clinical internal medicine and a physician at Suzhou Ciji Outpatient Department, a special physical and mental relaxation exercise slowly unfolded. At the beginning, she did not teach esoteric medical theories, but instead acted like a considerate behavioral guide, leading everyone from the simplest movements to perceive their own bodies.

Starting with breathing, the practice involves conditioning the entire spine and relaxing the whole body. Dr. Mei emphasizes "slowness" and "perception": the wave of the pelvis: "inhale to roll forward, exhale to roll backward". She guides everyone to imagine the pelvis as a gentle wave, naturally rolling forward and backward with the breath, aiming to activate the stiff lumbosacral region and relax the entire spine, segment by segment.

Subsequently, Dr. Mei designed simple and easy-to-perform exercises for the eyes, shoulders, neck, and legs, aiming to train the eye muscles, relieve pressure on the shoulders and neck, and gently strengthen the leg muscles, effectively protecting the knee joints.

Dr. Mei regards this set of slow movements as a key, especially suitable for three types of people:

sedentary individuals, these movements can directly combat "chair disease", resolve qi and blood stasis, quickly alleviate muscle stiffness, and improve circulation. patients with chronic diseases (such as hypertension), she points out that "yawning" is a simple technique for lowering blood pressure, while deep breathing can help the body switch from a tense "sympathetic" mode to a relaxed "parasympathetic" mode, thereby improving sleep and stabilizing blood pressure. Combining exercise during the day with exposure to sunlight can promote the secretion of serotonin, laying the foundation for the production of melatonin, which aids sleep at night, forming a virtuous cycle of "moving well during the day and sleeping soundly at night".

For cancer survivors, the benefits of this exercise are multi-dimensional. Physically, gentle movements can avoid excessive exertion, while promoting meridian balance and energy field enhancement, thereby enhancing overall energy levels. Psychologically, focusing on breathing and body awareness exercises is a positive "mindfulness" training, which can effectively divert anxiety towards pain and illness, achieving inner peace and a sense of control. Through continuous hands-on practice and interaction, cognitive function and enthusiasm for life have been significantly improved.

Lifestyle-oriented Traditional Chinese Medicine: Integrating Health Preservation Wisdom into Daily Life

Zhou Qingshan, a general practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, pointed out that the core of "lifestyle-oriented traditional Chinese medicine" is to transform the concept of traditional Chinese medicine health preservation into simple and feasible daily habits. The key lies in "conforming to nature, fitting the constitution, and being simple and easy to implement", rather than pursuing complex therapies.

Preventive treatment is priority: focus on daily prevention rather than post-illness remedies. Harmony between nature and humanity: adjust diet and daily routines according to the seasons and day and night, such as moistening dryness during the Autumnal Equinox and adhering to early sleep and early rise. Tailored nourishment based on syndrome differentiation: different constitutions require different approaches, with those with deficiency and cold avoiding raw and cold foods, and those prone to internal heat reducing spicy foods, all guided by the principle of "doing what feels comfortable".

He particularly emphasizes avoiding four major misconceptions: not pursuing specific effects, not blindly taking tonics, not dwelling on details, and not resisting bodily sensations. True health stems from a lifestyle harmonious with nature, rather than relying on medication. The wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine lies in allowing the body to regain balance through subtle daily adjustments.

Letting Go = Changing Mindset

From "Why Me?" to "Everything Is the Best Arrangement"

After battling cancer for twenty-one years, our amiable teacher has interpreted the power of "changing mindset" through her personal experiences. She frankly admits that every patient has pondered "Why me?", but true recovery begins with letting go of this unanswerable question.

She views every recurrence as a reminder of life, transforming her 21-year journey against cancer into a path of helping others. From commemorating her rebirth by cycling alone to becoming a guide for countless fellow patients, she says, "When you stop asking 'why' and instead ask 'what can I do now,' life opens up new doors."

The breadth of life is far beyond imagination

"If you're not strong, no one will be brave for you." This is the belief written with life by Zhang Lingyu, a national health management expert and a world-renowned Chinese anti-cancer star.

In 1984, 24-year-old Zhang Lingyu, in the prime of his life, was diagnosed with a rare disease called "anaplastic large cell lymphoma", becoming the first case in Shanghai. After a brief period of sadness, she wiped away her tears and vowed, "I cannot be a 'third-class citizen' who waits to eat, sleep, and die!" Now, at the age of 65, Zhang Lingyu stands on the stage with a sparkle in her eyes, saying, "Through 41 tumultuous years, I have seen the value of life, lived with dignity, and gained respect. I deeply feel that I am the happiest person in the world!"

and knowledge of modern medicine and modern nutrition

to the second stage of reassurance, focusing on positive psychology and

interpretation and case sharing of qi and blood in traditional Chinese medicine

Here, a warm resting spot on the road to recovery

Love Friends Station is about to set sail

from the stage of "being cared for" to "caring for others"

Every day, professional doctors and medical colleagues

transform into the "strongest backup group"

waiting for everyone to "come home" and recharge!
